A picture is worth a thousand words
…cracks in the ceiling, crooked pictures in the hall, counting and breathing, I’m leaving here tomorrow, they don’t know I’d never do you any good. laughing is easy…I would if I could . “In the Fade” – Queens of the Stone Age

At what point does an image lose its power?

When does an image lose it’s emotional impact on the person viewing it?

This is my first post in a while because my computer crashed. Besides the hassle of getting it going again, I lost all of my music, documents and pictures I had. I was debating on what to do with all the pictures that my wife and I had on there. I did not feel like I was ready to get rid of them all or that I should. They represented a joyful time and experience in my life, but I also knew that they reminded me of the difficult period in my life as the relationship was coming to an end… they reminded me of the rejection, grief, anger etc….but now they are gone… and not by my choice. I never backed up any of my data…lesson learned.
So now its time to start new memories and move forward. It’s still a little sad because as I get older, how many more times am I going to recall a positive memory that would have only been triggered by staring at a little image on my screen.
